Barton Warnock Center

After the Farmer's Market, we decided to head down to Big Bend Ranch State Park. It's about 7 or 8 miles past Ghost Town and we had been told that we might be able to find some topo maps that had local mountain names listed.  It was a beautiful day, sunny and in the 60's/70's. Nice drive.  We had passed the center before, on the way to Lajitas, but, had never stopped.

When we arrived, we went to the gift shop and went through all the topo maps to find one that had our property on it. Couldn't locate the right one. None of them had many mountain names . . . apparently, the topo maps were generated a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away . . .

We walked through the cactus garden only.  There were acres and acres of gardens at the back of the center that we didn't get to explore that day. Saving that for the next trip - we want to go look at the topo maps again (after the Terlingua map is back in stock).

Headed up to the property this afternoon - we want to see if any ocotillos are blooming and take more pictures. Here are fireplace pictures . . .
